Generates a new point cloud from the selected points.

Options are:

  • Compression:

Four levels of compression are available:

    • High: Compression of the generated .VPC point cloud will be at maximum resulting in a smaller file size
    • Normal: Original VPC optimised format - useful if you are using old versions of other Veesus software
    • Voxel: Produces a coloured Voxel model at the detail level set in Point Spacing (only option available)
    • Voxel - No Colour: Produces a Voxel model at the detail level set in Point Spacing (only option available)

  • Spacing:
    • Normal or High Compression option:

Remove points who's distance to a neighbour is less then the value specified.  Specifying a higher value will remove more points resulting in a grid like appearance.

Note: Default value does not normally need changing.

    • Voxel option:

Sets the quality of the created Voxel model.  Default is 200mm, but values of 20mm or 50mm will yield greater results, but file size will increase.

Resulting Voxel model file size can be 4000x times smaller then original point cloud.

  • Resolution (no option for Voxel)
    • The accuracy of the converted points.  Specifying a higher value will reduce the accuracy of the points and help increase the compression of the output file.

Note: Default value does not normally need changing.

  • Noise Filter (no option for Voxel):
    • Looks for neighbouring points with specified area, if none point is removed, which is ideal for cleaning rouge points.
    • Starting value of 30 - 40mm is a recommendation.
